Opening files on Mac

append delete Wannoryso

I just got my first iMac, and I'm having trouble dealing with some files I've transferred from my old PC. In particular, the files that have an ".exe" extension can't be opened for some reason. What could be the problem?

This is because .exe files are primarily made to be opened on Windows-based computers. You can still open them on MacOS though, https://onmac.net/how-to-open-exe-files-on-mac/ is a great resource if you want to learn more. It's a nifty trick that will save you a lot of time you would otherwise spend on getting a Mac version of the executable file.
